Bengaluru, July 10, 2017: EVEN as the coastal region is simmering due to the communal flare-up, politicians have begun a blame game. Union minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation D V Sadananda Gowda on Sunday accused the Siddaramaiah government of failing to maintain law and order in the coastal region and demanded the CM to quit.

Sadananda Gowda“Law and order has collapsed in the last two weeks in Dakshina Kannada district. Siddaramaiah should stop blaming the BJP and Sangh Parivar to cover up his failure in controlling the situation,” Sadananda Gowda said.

“Let him quit if he cannot maintain law and order. The Union government will restore peace within 24 hours,” Gowda added.

Hitting back, Siddaramaiah said peace will prevail in the coastal region if BJP leaders stay away. “Some BJP leaders are trying to incite communal passions in Mangaluru. Peace will prevail if they stay away,” he said. “Inciting the people by making wild allegations cannot be tolerated,” he added.

The Chief Minister also warned of stringent action against those fomenting communal violence.

“Whether they are Hindu outfits or any other organisations including SDPI, we will act tough against those vitiating communal harmony,” Siddaramaiah said.
