Pvt bus catches fire near Uppinangady ; 2 hurt

Uppinangady, Dec 1, 2014  : Two persons sustained injuries after a private sleeper coach bus which was on way to Mangaluru  from Bengaluru  accidentally caught fire  during the wee hours of December 1, Monday. The fire was first noticed when the bus reached Sannampady near Uppinangady at around  5 am.

 

 

 

 

 

Though the   fire service personnel who rushed to the spot doused the fire, the bus  has been partially gutted. Luckily  most of the nearly 25 passengers in the bus escaped unhurt. The two injured persons including a woman have been shifted to a private hospital in Puttur.

Traffic was disrupted on the route for some time and the Uppinangady police who are at the spot are trying to regulate traffic.

The cause of the fire and other details are awaited.
