Puttur, Feb 9, 2016 : In a peculiar case a woman attempted suicide twice on February 8, Monday but was rescued on both occasions. If she attempted suicide for the first time by jumping into a well outside the police station, second time she tried to hang herself in the toilet of the Puttur Government Hospital. Presently, she has been admitted to Wenlock Hospital.
The woman named Nagamma (40) from Nelamangala in Bengaluru was found sitting in front of the residence of Gram Panchayat Member Jyothi on Monday in a state of depression. The lady remained silent despite persistent questioning, following which the police were informed. It is learnt she worked in a cashew plantation at Narimogaru and lived in a rented house at Mottetadka.
At the station, the woman had rushed towards a nearby well and jumped into it. Though she was duly rescued with the help of fire brigade and admitted to Puttur Government Hospital, there too she tried to end her life by hanging herself using her nightie in the hospital toilet. She was immediately rescued and rushed to Wenlock Hospital.
