Puttur : Under trial makes futile bid to escape from court during hearing

Puttur, April 6, 2016 : In an amusing as well as peculiar incident, a person from Shiradi  Addahole who was an accused in a murder case, tried to escape from the court room even as the trial was underway, but was eventually trapped by the public close by the court. The incident took place on April 5, Tuesday.


 escape from court during hearing The accused Jayesh   was charged in the case of murder of  one Sowmya and her son Jishnu at Addahole in 2008. He was absconding since the murder for as long as  six years. It is believed that  during  this period he worked as a vegetable vendor at Moovattapuram in Kerala.


There in 2014, after a quarrel with his wife, he had climbed a coconut tree to protest and the police who reached there convinced him to climb down and took him to the police station where during enquiry the police came to know of the two murder cases in which he was involved.

Consequent upon this the Uppinangady police took the custody of Jayesh from the Kerala police.

On Tuesday, police had taken him to be produced before the Fifth Additional Sessions Court from where he tried to run away. However he was caught a little away from the court near the Mini Vidhana Saudha after a lawyer spotted him.
