Puttur: Two students of different community in the college bus handed over to Police

Mangaluru, March 05, 2020:  Two students of different communities by sitting next to each other in a bus ended up inviting the wrath of some Hindu fringe groups on Wednesday.

The students, who travel by the same bus, to their college in Puttur were handed over to the police at KSRTC Bus Stand in Puttur. According to the police, the students hail from the same village and travel in the same bus daily.

On Wednesday too, the students travelled in the same bus and were seen conversing with each other. No sooner the bus ended its trip in Puttur after passing through Madavu and Thingalady villages, the member of some Hindu fringe groups pounced on them. The activists, accusing the boy of being involved in ‘Love Jihad’ handed him over to the police. Later, the police summoned the parents of the students to the station and the students were sent back to their houses with them.
