Puttur : Mysterious death of woman ; neighbour arrested

Puttur, May 15, 2013 :  Police investigations into the recent case of suspicious death of a 65 year old woman in a roadside ditch  in Hannimar of Keyyur village, have revealed that the woman did  not  meet an accidental death but was murdered for gain. They have also arrested one Ananthesh, a neighbour of the dead woman.

 Earlier, it was suspected that Girija Poojary (65)  might have died due to epileptic seizures  or might have slipped into the drain and died.  Sources said Ananthesh had followed Girija while she was returning after visiting the local beedi branch,hit  her head with a wooden  club and had fled with her chain which he later realized was not gold but artificial.

It is learnt, Ananthesh thought he could take advantage of Girija who led a solitary lie and eyed her chain, nose pin and ear rings.

Reports said Girija who had separated from her husband, was living in her brother’s house.

The arrested person will be produced before the court  today.
