Puttur: Couple injured as tree rolls over autorickshaw at Sampya

Puttur, June 20, 2014 : Heavy rains coupled with strong winds which have been lashing Puttur taluk since the past two days, has caused extensive damage. There are reports of trees  coming crashing down on roads at several places.

At Sampya on the Maani-Mysore State Highway, a couple travelling in an autorickshaw were injured when a huge tree fell over the vehicle. The injured couple namely Kareem Saheb and Razia of Olamogaru  have been hospitalised. The driver Siraj however escaped unhurt. The incident disrupted traffic on the route for some time. The road was  later cleared of the tree  with the help of a crane.
