Puttur: 2 trucks unauthorisedly ferrying 120 migrant workers seized

Puttur, May 9, 2020: Two trucks of Haryana registration which were found unauthorisedly ferrying migrants of north India were stopped by the police near the Gundia checkpost on Friday. The stickers pasted tp the two trucks mentioned that  the trucks were transporting essential commodities.

Though the workers inside the trauck were adamant that they be sent to their native places, the Assistant Commissioner of Puttur Yathish Ullal managed to convince them and the 120 migrant workers  were sent to Mangaluru by three KSRTC buses. Food  arrangements were also made for them.

The migrants have told officials that they had come to Mangaluru for clothes business and that they did not have work or money since 45 days and now want to go back home.
