Puttur: 2 school girls drown in lake at Bellare

Puttur, Dec 16, 2018: In a tragic incident two school girls have drowned in a lake at Moolyathadka in Koltige village of Bellare on December 15, Saturday evening.

The deceased are Sanjana (11), daughter of Muttappa Gowda and Prajna (12). The latter was the daughter of the brother of Muttappa.

Both the girls were  students of Koltige Government School and were studying in sixth and seventh standards respectively.

The girls who had been to school as usual on Saturday morning  had reportedly gone near the lake  after returning home.

A case has been registered in Bellare police station.
