Sharing experience on Covid-19, he said, "After I contracted the virus, I used to get bouts of cough at 4 am daily. When I asked the doctor, he suggested that a delay in sleep would have caused it. As per his advise, I started sleeping at 9 pm and the intensity of cough reduced drastically over some time."

"With this, I realised that there is a direct connection between immunity and sleeping time. During my travel across the world and due to various pre occupied programmes, I had neglected my sleep over the years," explained the seer.

When the immunity power decreases in a human being, coronavirus attacks that person. By increasing immunity, it is possible to keep Covid-19 at bay, the seer advised.

Even in Bhagavadgita, Lord Krishna speaks about the right time to eat food and sleep. There is a need to eat food at the right time and also take proper rest, he said.

"After I started sleeping from 8 pm to 4 am, I realised that my immunity power improved," he said.

Even after vaccination, Covid-19 cannot be eradicated unless immunity power improves. Hence, the Centre should give priority to comprehensive healthcare by incorporating Yoga, Pranayama and Ayurveda in it, he said.

The government should declare 8 pm to 4 am as the national rest time. Strict rules like lockdown should be implemented during this time, he said.

The seer was admitted to a hospital in Manipal on July 21 and was discharged on August 1. Now, he is undergoing rest at the Puthige mutt in Padigaru.
