Pursue Science with passion : ISRO PRO Guruprasad exhorts students

Mangaluru, Dec 10, 2015 :  The successful Mission Mars which is one of India’s greatest achievements in the space science field is a matter of great pride for all Indians, said  B R Guruprasad,  Public  Relations Officer of ISRO.

He was  speaking at the inaugural function of a science model exhibition on ’India’s Achievements in Space Science and Technology’ organised at the Mahesh Pre-University College at Kottara Chowki here on December 9, Wednesday.

Continuing, Guruprasad said  if several other nations achieved success  in such a mission only after  initial failures,  India could achieve success in its very first attempt. This was possible due to the ceaseless efforts and organised work of the ISRO scientists,he added.

"India’s younger generation has ample scope and opportunities in the space science field, he said and exhorted youngsters to pursue science with passion.

Earlier, inaugurating the programme. Dr K.V. Rao, Director of Regional Science Centre of Pilikula Nisargadhama  said the entire world is stunned by India’s  efforts and  achievements in space science sector and attributed the success to ISRO. He also stated that the government was now contemplating  to start  a new course in Aero Space Communication.

Sujith Kumar, Trustee of Mahesh PU College presided over the function. Walter D’Mello, Deputy Director of Public  Instructions, was present as a chief guest.

Dr Ajith D’Souza, Principal of Mahesh PU College, welcomed the gathering.   Suresh, Area Head (Davangere, Chitradurga) of MT Education Limited  proposed the vote of thanks.

 ’Rocket experiment,’  rocket and satellite models, hanging  panels, 3-D models based on ’Saakaar’ Android App’  which were  exhibited  on the occasion fascinated the students.
