The students as part of the protest even began playing in the ground. The protestors expressed their anguish at the decision of the administration to hand  over the land to the Wakf Board despite the Kerala Samajam School using it as a playground and despite its appeal  to the DC to  provide the land to the school for playground purposes. A school teacher even said that when the matter was brought to the notice of the District Minister he had assured to look into the issue but of no avail.

Local Corporator Diwaker said he was kept in the dark regarding the proposal to construct community hall proposal and added already a memorandum has been submitted to the district minister seeking permission to use the land as a playground.
