Proposal to develop fisheries harbour at Hejmady submitted to Centre: Chennappa Gowda

Udupi: September 15, 2015: Secretary of Fisheries and Animal Husbandry, N.H. Chennappa Gowda on Monday said that a proposal of Rs. 122.59 crore for developing a fisheries harbour at Hejmady village in Udupi district had been submitted to the Union government. He was chairing a review meeting here.

Mr. Gowda said that the State government would urge the Centre to release its share for the development of third phase works of Malpe and Mangaluru fisheries harbours.

The issue of the Rs. 151.9 crore Kulai fisheries harbour was also discussed at the meeting.

Mr. Gowda directed officials to complete works on the fisheries link roads by the end of March.

Tenders had been floated for the construction of Rs. 33 crore Koderi fisheries habour in Udupi district, said T.S. Rathod, Executive Engineer, Department of Ports and Fisheries.
