Kundapur, March 4, 2020: A court in Kundapur has on March 4, Wednesday directed the police to ensure medical treatment to Raghavendra Ganiga who was arrested for raising pro-Pakistan slogans in front of the Mini Vidhana Saudha here on Monday.
Ganiga’s lawyer G. Santosh Kumar Shetty drew the attention of the court towards the fact that his client was mentally ill and had unknowingly raised the slogan without any intention. He also pointed out how Ganiga had raised slogans even while police took him away.
The court had earlier on Monday remanded Ganiga to judicial custody till March 16. Now following today’s court’s directive, he will be admitted to the District Hospital.
