It may be recalled that Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji, the seer of Pejawar Mutt, had refused to participate in the release of this film because it shows Hindu deities in a derogatory manner.

Speaking on the issue, Sharan Pumpwell, the convener of Bajrang Dal, said that the movie depicts Hindu gods as common men and shows then dancing with women, owing to which the Bajrang Dal condemns the movie as an attempt to defile Hindu deities.

The pro Hindu groups also prevented the screening of this movie at Adlabs.

Mr. Pumpwell said that pro Hindu groups will not allow this movie to be shown at any theatre in the twin districts.

Prominent Kannada movie actors Ambarish, Ramya, Upendra, Muthappa Rai, and Doddanna have played roles in this movie.
