Priyanka released ; returns to parental home

Mangaluru, Dec 30, 2017: Priyanka of Dharegudde in Moodbidri who had eloped with a youth of another community  days before her wedding, has been released from prison on Friday after the JMFC Court granted her bail.  She has left the prison along with her family members.

 

Though Priyanka initially refused to go with her parents, she later agreed after much persuasion.  Earlier, the Mangaluru Police had traced her in Mumbai along with her lover and had brought her back.

She was soon arrested as she was facing charges of  escaping from her home after offering food laced with intoxicants to her family members.

She was produced before the court on December 23 and was  remanded to judicial custody till December 26. Subsequently, the  judicial custody period was extended till January 5.
