Prisoner escapes from police during train journey

Kundapur, Oct 07 2018: An under trial from Jail, facing many cases escaped from police escort on October 6, Saturday.  The escaped prisoner has been identified as Suresh Marati (26) resident of Golihole, Byndoor.

The escapee is an under trial facing many cases under various sections of the criminal procedure code including Pocso Act. He gave police escort the  slip and escaped from the train while being escorted to the prison.

Marati was presented in Kundapur court after the police brought him from Karwar prison where he was lodged. He was being taken back to Karwar prison by Matsyagandha Express train when he escaped from police at Byndoor railway station.  Byndoor police have registered a case in this regard.
