Mangaluru, Aug 22, 2016: D V Sadananda Gowda, Union minister of statistics and programme implementation  stressed on the need for taking measures to prevent the activities of IS in the coastal belt. He was delivering a talk at ’Tiranga Yatra’ and ’Balidana Smarane’, a programme to remember freedom fighters, held at Mangala Auditorium of Mangalore University, Aug 21, Sunday. 


Sadananda Gowd..."Mangaluru sandwiched between Kasaragod and Bhatkal is a sensitive spot. Kasaragod, we have seen is a base for youngsters who join IS; and Bhatkal has seen many with terrorists links and they have threatened the country. Hence, Mangaluru is a central place where a new message needs to be conveyed as per the visions of our Prime Minister. The patriotic message should echo through the west coast - from Thiruvananthapuram to Mumbai," Minister Sadananda said.
