President Smt. Prathiba Patel arrives at Bajpe Airport

Mangalore, Dec 8, 2010: President of India Smt. Prathiba Patel arrived at Bajpe Airport on Dec 8, Wednesday at 3:40 p.m. by special Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter. She is scheduled to preside over the Konkani Ekta Divas, the highlight of the 25-day World Konkani Cultural Convention, on Dec 9 at Nehru Maidan. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Governor H. R. Bharadwaj, Uttarakhan Governor Margaret Alva, Higher Education Minister V. S. Acharya, District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar, Mayor Rajani Dugganna, DK Zilla Panchayat President K. Santhosh Kumar Bhandary, Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, Mandd Sobhann President Louis J. Pinto, Coordinator Stany Alvares, Roy Castelino, and others received the president at the airport. 

She boarded a helicopter to Manipal, where she is scheduled to confer doctorates and gold medals on student achievers at the 10th convocation ceremony of Manipal University. 

She will honor 25 Konkani organizations and institutions from all over world for their rich contributions to Konkani culture on Dec 9, Thursday.
