Preparatory meet held to discuss Udupi Paryaya arrangements

Udupi, Oct 29, 2015: Preparatory meeting on provision of basic facilities and maintenance of peace and law/order during the Udupi Paryaya festival, January 18, 2016, was held at the Udupi DC ffice Oct 28 Wednesday.

 

DC Dr R. Vishal, chaired the meeting, discussed the issues of safety of the people, management of garbage, traffic congestion and security of VIPs with the Superintendent of Police K. Annamalai.

He directed the officials to submit a report on the parking facility for vehicles, safety measures, and on cultural programmes during the festival by November 5. He also asked the officials to give him report on the issues of food and hygiene. He directed the officials of Udupi City Municipal Council to repair the roads in time and maintain cleanliness.

The Department of Health and Family Welfare should make arrangements for ambulance and medicines. All the information about the Paryaya procession and safety measures should be available with the district police. The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation would be asked to run special additional buses during the festival.
