Pregnant constable on bandobast duty; Commissioner issues charge memo to 3 cops

Mangaluru, Oct 27, 2019: City Police Commissioner Dr P S Harsha has issued a charge memo to the inspector, sub-inspector and writer of the Mulki Police Station in connection with  the case of deputing a pregnant constable  on bandobast duty during the recent visit of Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwathanarayana.

The Commissioner who had earlier come to know about the incident through  a viral social media post, had  issued an apology and had  assured that such things will not repeat.

The lady constable was on duty near the Mulki bus stand and someone had clicked the photo which went viral. Many had questioned why the pregnant lady was posted  for bandobast duty.
