Pre school kid allegedly beaten at kindergarten at Attavar

Mangaluru, Dec 10,2014: As per reports,  complaint is said to be registered at Mangalore South police station against a pre-school in Attavar for allegedly meting out corporal punishment to a five-year-old child.  The parents of the boy, Rahamath and Minaz, have lodged the complaint alleging that the school principal’s wife, Latha, who is also the co-ordinator of Kidzee Mangalore, used a scale to beat the boy on his legs.

 

 

 

 

Minaz from Kuthar, about 12 kms from the city, states that her son had gone to her mother’s house at Kankanady after school at 1pm.  The lady noticed reddish marks. When questioned  the child said  he was beaten up. He added that teacher beat him up since he could not say words about vegetables.

The boy had fever on Monday night and refused to go to school the next day, said Minaz.

The parents approached the school principal, Sukesh Uchil, on Dec 9, Tuesday. "He initially said that his wife did the right thing, however, later backtracked saying that nothing of that sort had happened. He spoke to us very rudely. We did not go there to fight but to ask exactly what had happened," she said.

Principal Uchil denied the allegation made and said that it could have happened anywhere since the child is in school for only four hours. "We have eight CCTV cameras and the authorities can check whether we are telling the truth or not,’’ he said. The principal also alleged the parents pushed his wife and behaved rudely.  Mangalore South Police registered the case under IPC 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means).
