Moodbidri, Oct 17, 2015 : Police who are investigating into the case of murder of flower vendor and Bhajrangdal activist Prashanth Poojary in the town  on October 9  are tight-lipped about the progress of the investigation despite rumours doing the rounds that the accused in the case have  been caught.

Prashanth murder case Meanwhile,  Hindu outfits  have a strong feelin that  the fact that as Prashanth was in the lead in detecting cattle trafficking cases, he might have been probably eliminated by  those involved in cattle  smuggling.

Sources also state that Prashanth had divulged the name of his attackers before breathing his last.  In the meantime, it has been gathered that several suspects in the case have gone underground. Even the CC Cameras which were  installed near  the place where the murder took place could not give any clue regarding the killers.

Several BJP leaders including former CM BS Yeddyurappa have already visited the residence of Prashanth and consoled his family members. A demand has also been raised to provide a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to Prashanth’s family. BJP Leaders have also been criticising the DK District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai as well as local MLA Abhayachandra Jain who is also a state minister for not visiting the residence of Prashanth.

On the other hand the death of Vaman Kotian (68), a tender coconut seller close by Prashanth’s flower shop, who reportedly committed suicide, has made the case much murkier. Sources say Kotian was depressed ever since Prashanth was killed. Police had also interrogated him following the incident.
