Prasad Attavar in judicial custody for 15 days

Mangalore, Mar 2: Shri Rama Sene (SRS) leader Prasad Attavar, who was recently arrested for his connections with underworld don Ravi Poojary, has been remanded to judicial custody for a period of 15 days, after which he was produced before the judicial magistrate of the third court in Mangalore by Kadri Police on March 2, Tuesday. 

Rajendra, a relative of Prasad, who has been booked on similar grounds, was with him when they were presented before the judge at his residence in Bondel. Prasad has been charged under Sections 143, 144, 502, 511, 325, 328, and 120B r/w 34 of the Indian Penal Code. 

The police said that Prasad has confessed to being involved with the gangster and distributing his funds to other criminals in Mangalore. 

The Kadri Police intend to request the court on March 3, Wednesday to grant custody of Attavar for further interrogation. The police want to interrogate Prasad to find out more about underworld activities in Mangalore.
