Pranavananda rakes up Godse controversy in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, April 20, 2015 : Swami Pranavananda, Chief of the Akhila Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha  has raked up the  Godse controversy again by terming   Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse as a Hindu patriot. He even went on to say that his organization will install the statue of Godse in Mangaluru apart from five other places in the state including  Bengaluru, Mysuru, Chitradurga, Ballari and Vijayapura.

Speaking to reporters in the city on April 20, Monday, the Mahasabha Chief also declared that the statue will be installed undeterred by comments on the issue. Pranavananda further stated that the Sabha had approached the Deputy Commissioner seeking land for the statue  and added that he is yet to receive a reply from the administration.

The state in Mangaluru will be five feet tall, he said   and added that in Bengaluru it will be installed after the BBMP elections.

Asked why his organization wants a statue of Godse to be  installed, Pranavananda retorted and questioned  “What is wrong in having a Godse statue when there are statues as well as roads named after  Aurangzeb and Tipu Sultan  who have destroyed Hindu shrines?”

He further hinted at the Mahasabha plans to contest elections in the future to help formation of a Hindu Rashtra.

He even urged the government to release the Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Thakur. Also critical of the  social and  educational census currently underway, he said it was nothing but an attempt to divide society by the government.

Pranavananda further deplored the BJP for forging an alliance with the PDP in Kashmir and demanded that the party severed the alliance.
