In a tweet, he asked whether the JD(s)-Congress government will let the fringe elements take the law into their own hands and make it another Padmaavat issue, like what BJP government did.

In a detailed statement, he questioned how can fringe groups represent the common man. He further asked the two state governments and the central government to reach an amicable solution as far as the Cauvery water issue is concerned.

Earlier, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFFC) decided not to release Rajinikanth’s film Kaala, which is hitting the screens on June 7.

The decision was due to the statements that Rajinikanth has reportedly made on the Cauvery issue.

Rajinikanth has apparently said that whichever government comes to power, should follow the orders of the Supreme Court regarding the Cauvery water issue.

This has enraged many political outfits in Karnataka, who called for a ban on his gangster film Kaala.

Directed by Pa Ranjith, Kaala also stars Samuthirakani, Eswari Rao, Huma Qureshi and Nana Patekar in pivotal roles.
