Pothole proves tragic for woman pillion rider at Tokkottu

Mangaluru, Apr 26, 2015: A woman who was pillion riding a bike  met a tragic end when she was run over by a lorry after she fell off the two-wheeler which got stuck in a pothole in front of the Sahara Hospital at Tokkottu on April 26, Sunday. The deceased woman’s son was riding the bike.

The deceased is Maimuma (50) of Krishnapura. Maimuna who had attended a wedding at Kallaup Unity Hall along with her son, later decided to  go to Ullal Uroos when tragedy struck.

Angry residents  gathered at the spot and took the authorities to task for the  failure to maintain the highway. They even put up a barricade around the pothole that led to the mishap.

The UIlal police rushed to the spot and helped in clearing the road for vehicular movement.
