Poor to get rice at Re 1 per kg from June : Kodijal Ibrahim

Mangalore, May 14, 2013: DK District Congress Vice President Ibrahim Kodijal said that People of the state have  voted the  Congress party to power as they want peace to prevail in the society.


Speaking at the press meet held at District Congress Office on May 14, Tuesday, he said that the the erstwhile BJP government had failed to fulfill the promises made in its election manifesto. He said the Congress will not follow suit but will strive its level best to fulfill its assurances.

Charging the former BJP government of misusing power and involving in corruption and scams, he said the newly elected Congress MLAs will work  to give fair governance.


Speaking on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, he said that he is a clean person and has the ability to implement the schemes and developmental works as mentioned in the Congress manifesto within 5 years. The congress will implement the scheme of offering 30 kgs of rice at Rs 1 per kg for poor people from June 1. He also said that farmers will be given loan upto Rs 2 lakhs at zero percent interest.


Congress will work hard to curb the atrocities against youth in the form of moral policing, he added.


KPCC General Secretary Ivan D’Souza, former MLA Vijaykumar Shetty, Mohammed Masood, former mayor Ashraf, Sadashiva Ullal, Appi and Kripa Alva were also present.
