Mangaluru, Mar 20, 2015: Senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary who was recently all praise for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the budget presented by him, however on March 19 chose to slam the state government  over its refusal to hand over the IAS officer D.K. Ravi suspicious death case to the CBI.

janardhan pooj..Speaking to reporters at the District Congress Office, Poojary demanded Party President Sonia Gandhi’s intervention  in this regard. He also questioned the reasons that might have prompted the government to refuse a CBI probe despite vehement demand in this direction from various corners including the parents of the deceased IAS officer.

He further stated that the entire state and the people would be behind the CM if he entrusted the case to the CBI. Asked if he had no faith in the CID which is investigating the case at present Poojary said  though he had faith, almost everyone wants a CBI investigation.

Poojary further stated that the Congress will have to bear grave consequences if it fails to heed to the demand and warned that it may have to meet the same fate as happened in case of Delhi elections.

Poojary also did not spare the Bengaluru Police Commissioner MN Reddy and questioned why he had termed the death of the officer as ‘Prime Facie a case of suicide,’ that too even before  the post-mortem report was out.
