He also took a dig at Home Minister KJ George and said “The people have no faith in the CID probe.”

“Going by the circumstances, it is a clear-cut case of murder and not an encounter,” Poojary said and also took exception to the failure of the authorities to initiate stern action against the ANF personnel responsible for the shooting.

Poojary also demanded an explanation from the Police Department for its hesitation in initiating action in the case.

He further  condemned the assault on the family members of the deceased youth Kabeer, when they had come to Shringeri to take his body.

Poojary also expressed his displeasure over the compensation of Rs 5 lakh announced to Kabeer family and urged the government to increase the compensation to Rs 20 lakh and also to provide a job to one of the family members of the victim.
