Police nab man who burnt his pregnant wife to death

Mangaluru, May 27, 2016: It is reported that  Kasargod police arrested Manoj, days after he along with his mother burnt his wife to death on May 1.  Manoj and Ramya got married two years ago after having an affair. However, Manoj began harassing his wife and used to snatch her salary as he did not have a job. Ramya worked as a nurse in a primary health centre at Manjeshwar.

On May 1, Manoj beat his pregnant wife and then set her on fire.

When she was admitted to the hospital, he followed her and got admitted to threaten her against revealing the truth. Manoj then admitted himself to a hospital in Kollam. However, Ramya breathed her last on May 14 night.

Manoj has now been arrested and brought to Kasargod.

A judge in Kasargod had recorded Ramya’s death bed statement when she was in the hospital. The case was then  treated as attempt-to-murder.
