Police bust prostitution racket in Samruddhi Lodge

Mangalore, May 21: The police have busted a prostitution racket, which was being run at a lodge called “Samruddhi Lodge” on Maidan Road, during a raid organized by ACP Ravindra Gadadi on May 21, Saturday.











The arrested have been identified as Abbas, Harish, and Arun, who were the customers, as well as cleaner Rajesh and room boy Ravi. A woman called Mumtaz (26), who has been abandoned by her husband, is also involved in this racket.

The owner of the lodge Laxman Achari and manager Ashraf are absconding.

The racket has been running for the last few years with the support of unknown forces. The Bunder police have registered a case and investigations are going on. The police team that busted the racket comprised Dinesh, Ravi, and Shambha.
