Police bust cricket betting racket, 3 arrested

Mangaluru, April 7, 2019: The city police on Friday busted a cricket betting racket at a lodge in Bejai. Personnel from Urwa police station arrested 3 persons for allegedly placing bets on an IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders.

The accused persons – B Ismail, Ismail and Joseph, were using Cricket Live Buzz app for betting when the police raided the lodge following a tip off. The police seized three mobile phones and some cash from the spot.

While B Ismail (26), is from Mudebihal taluk of Vijayapura district, Ismail (65), is from Adyar-Valachil, Mangaluru and Joseph (27), is from Kayartadka, Belthangady.
