Police arrest mobile phone thieves within 2 hours of theft

Mangaluru, Sep 28, 2020:   Police succeeded in arresting thieves who had stolen mobile phones in Mangaluru, within 105 minutes.

Using technology, the police were able to crack the theft case and seize 11 mobile phones.

Mobile phones were stolen from construction labourers who were sleeping at a makeshift shed in Karanglapady. The labourers had registered a complaint with the police.

Acting on the complaint, Mangalore North police station inspector Govindraju, sub-inspectors Gurukanthi, Nagaraj, head constables Bharath, Valentine D’Souza and constable Tipparaddeppa arrested three persons in a lodge in Mangaluru.

The arrested youth were identified as Mohammed Suhail, Mohammaed Sarfaraz and Mohammed Safwan.

Already, there were two theft cases registered against Mohammed Sarfaraz.

The police had recovered two bikes from the youth and the ownership of the bikes is being investigated, said sources.
