Police arrest Hebri man and seize leopard pelt

Mangalore, August 9, 2012 : A special police forest mobile squad based in Mangalore on Aug 8, Wednesday arrested a man at Nadapal in Someshwar in Hebri and confiscated a leopard pelt from him.

 

 

The arrested is Sathosh Shetty (32). The squad got a tip that Santhosh and Ranjith alias Wilson were trying to sell the pelt and conducted a raid under the leadership of Manjunath K. R., the police sub inspector. Ranjith managed to give the police the slip.

The police have registered a case against Santhosh under the Wildlife Protection Act.
