Pingara confers Pingara Rajyothsava Award on Mandd Sobhann

Mangalore, November 10: The annual Pingara Rajyothsava Award was conferred on Mandd Sobhann in recognition of its contributions to the growth and development of Konkani language, folklore, culture, and so on. This is the sixth award given away by Pingara, the Kannada weekly. Louis Pinto, the president of the organization, received the award at a glittering programme held in Town Hall on the evening of Tuesday.

Shri Esha Vittaladasa Swamiji of Sandipani Mutt Kemar invoked blessings. Shri Sudhir P. Ghate, the chairman of Magnum Intergrafix, presided over the programme. L. H. Manjunath, the executive director of Dharmasthala Rural Development Programme; Dr. M. Mohan Alva, the chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation; K. Abhayachandra, the opposition leader; and Devika Jain of Devika Sarees were the guests of honour. They lauded Mandd Sobhann for its various achievements and contributions and appreciated Pingara for recognizing the great achievers of society.


Anita Samson and team sang several Kannada songs, marking the end of the programme.
