Pillion rider dies in pvt bus-bike collision at Lalbagh Junction

Mangaluru, Nov 29, 2014:  A tragic road accident  at the Lalbagh Junction in the city on November 29, Saturday afternoon  involving a bike and a bus has claimed the life of the pillion rider.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The deceased has been identified as Kiran Kotian (42) from Kudupu. He was an employee of Hindustan Unilever. The mishap occurred at around 2.45 pm when the bike which Kiran was pillion riding was hit by the private bus named Rajashree, from behind.  The accident was so grave that the bus pulled the bike upto a distance of 10 meters. Kiran  who sustained serious injuries, died on the spot. The bike rider however  had a miraculous escape.

 The bus operated on the Kinnigoli-Bajpe-Mangaluru route and was heading towards Lalbagh from Bejai when the accident occurred. Traffic Police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the hospital. A case has been registered.
