Mangaluru Feb 24, 2016 : Pilikula Sambhrama-2016, a Science, Culture and Sports event will be held on Feb 28, Saturday at Pilikula said K V Rao, Director of  Pilikula Regional Science Center, Mangaluru

Speaking to the media at DC office on Feb 24, Wednesday, KV Roa said that National Science Day Celebration 2016 at Pilikula Regional Science Centre will be held under the theme: ‘Make in India: Science and Technology Driven Innovations. There will be competitions for High school students like Quiz, Pick and Speak & Painting. Even Engineering students will be having a discussion and exhibition on the theme Entrepreneur, Academician and Innovations.

The objective of this programme is to create awareness about science and technology where the ideas and innovation will be presented and 14 colleges are expected to participate in this event.

CEO of Pilikula Biological Park Prabhakar Sharma said that, “Suggi –Huggi” a cultural programme will be organized by Kannada and Culture Department. This event will be the platform to preserve culture in the district and various cultural programmes like Yakshagana, Dollu Kunitha, Kangilu, Lambani will be performed.

Director of DK Volleyball Association Suresh Babu said that open volleyball tournament for both men and women will be organized in Pilikula Urban Haat Ground. Eight men’s and six women’s teams are  expected to participate in this tournament.

Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, Additional DC Kumar  were also present .
