The aim of this commitee where CSI and Catholic members will work hand in hand to obtain subsidy and so on, for Christians  who can not afford to full fill their desires to visit the Holy Land in their life time, from the Minority funds allocated.

It was sated at the meeting that minorities like the Muslims are being extended this facility for ’Haaj’ pilgrimage to Mecca. Similarly a reasonable percentage from all groups of Christians must be subsidized, particularly the poorer classes, to go on pilgrimage to the Holy Land and Vatican.

It is understood that Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu may be extending this privilege to Christians in those sates for pilgrimage. The committee will prevail upon key ministers and those responsible in the Govt. to  get this basic right for Christians in due course of time.
