Subrahmanya, Mar 07, 2019: The pilgrim town of Subrahmanya is observing a bundh on March 7, Thursday as per the call given by the Kukke Subrahmanya Lord Devotees Hitharakshana Vedike in protest against the legal notice sent by the seer of the Samputa Shree Narasimha Swami Mutt asking to handing over the Temple to the Mutt.
Most of the shops and business establishments have downed shutters since this morning, except some shops affiliated to the Mutt. Police have maintained a strict vigil in the wake of the bundh.
The Samputa Narasimha Mutt seer has reportedly sent the legal notice seeking handing over of all assets as well as account statements of the Temple to the Mutt. It may be recalled here that the Kukke Shree Subrahmanya Temple which is an A grade shrine of the Mujrai Department is the richest temple of Karnataka.
The Mutt and the Temple have been at loggerheads with each other since long on various issues.
