Phone-in : Commissioner says fine for traffic rule violators has increased

Mangaluru, July 05, 2019: City Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil has said the  fine for traffic rule violators has been increased and those  using mobile phones while driving and  those parking  in no-parking places and those over speeding will face a penalty upto Rs 1,000.

Participating in a phone-in programme at his office on July 5, Friday, the Commissioner said stern action will be taken against violators of traffic rules.

A caller from Carstreet drew the attention of the Commissioner towards the unauthorised parking of vehicles  on the roadside near the BEM High School while another caller from Urva said some cars  were found using tint glass as against rules.

A person from Bejai complained about the nuisance caused by some people   near a bar opposite the KSRTC bus stand at Bejai while another caller from Kadri  said vehicles parked on either sides of the road  near Kadri Ground and City Hospital created problems.

 Laxmi Ganesh, DCP (Crime and Traffic), Hanumantharaya, DCP (Law and Order), Manjunath, ACP (traffic) were also present.
