Petrol rates go up by 23 paise

New Delhi, Jan 21, 2019:  Petrol rates are up by 23 paise per litre while diesel prices went up by 29 to 31 paise in four major metros, making it the sharpest hike ever this month, by State-run oil companies, following a prolonged period of fall.


Petrol.jpThe hike of transport fuel rates on Sunday follows the implementation of output cuts by global producers from January 1 even as global crude oil rates continued to climb handsomely.

Petrol and diesel prices have been increased by more than Rs. 2 per litre each respectively during January.


Petrol price in Delhi went up to Rs. 70.95 per litre on Sunday while in Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai petrol cost was Rs. 73.05, Rs. 76.58 and Rs. 73.65 respectively.

The prices of diesel also went up toRs. 65.45 per litre in the national capital. The rates per litre were Rs. 67.23 in Kolkata, Rs. 68.53 in Mumbai and Rs. 69.14 in Chennai.
