Pejawar seer to inaugurate Vishwa Tuluvere Parba on Dec 12

Mangaluru, Dec 6, 2014: Dr. D Veerendra Heggade, Honorary president of the Vishwa Tuluvere Parba 2014 has said that the Parba scheduled to be held at the Sahyadri College at Adyar from December 12 to 14 will discuss several vital issues  pertaining to Tulu and Tulunad and will pressurise the government to fulfil several longstanding demands of the region. The event will be inaugurated by Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt at the SU Paniyadi Stage at 5 pm on December 12.

Speaking to reporters here on December 5, Friday, Dr Heggade said  the ardent demand of Tuluvas to include the language in the Eighth schedule of the constitution, the ban on Kambala as well as the proposed implementation of Yettinahole Project will come up for discussion.

Dr Heggade further informed  that the organisers of the event are expecting  nearly one lakh people to attend the three-day festival which will feature a variety of programmes that reflect the culture, tradition and ethos of the region. There will also be an exhibition   displaying traditional attires of the land, sports competitions, art exhibition as well as exhibitions of photos and books, he informed.

DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai who was also present, informed that a grant of Rs 50 lakh has been released by the state government for the event.

The inaugural function of Tuluvere Parba will be presided over by Dr D Veerendra Heggade while  Ramanna Dikshith, Chief Priest of  Tirupati Sri Venkataramana Temple will bless the occasion.

A host of dignitaries including  State Ministers Ramanatha Rai, UT Khader, Abhayachandra Jain, Vinaykumar Sorake, former union ministers Veerappa Moily, Oscar Fernandes and others will participate in the inaugural.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be the chief guest at the valedictory function on December 14.
