Pejawar seer revisits ’Geeta’ debate

Udupi, June 29, 2015  : Speaking to media,  Pejawar mutt seer Sri Vishweshatheertha Swamiji invited leftist scholar Prof. Bhagvan for the internal debate with regard to the pros and cons of Bhagvadgeetha. The seer expressed dissatisfaction over the cancellation of the proposed debate between him and the professor in Mysuru.

The police and the organizers with drew permission issued for the debate over the Geetha.

The seer said instead of open debate, it would be appropriate for an internal debate to solve the differences.  He said Chakravarthi Sulibele, Prahlad Acharya, Prathap Simha, Haridas Bhat were among others who would have taken part in the proposed open debate, the seer said.

He said the government should immediately respond to the grievances of the farmers. The government should take measures to stop the extreme step adopted by the aggrieved farmers. The government should take step to support farmers. He accusd that the government has failed to do so and the opposition is naturally taking advantage of the situation . He said the government should solve the loan issues bothering the farmers.

The present problem involving farmers death should be solved on priority as it is important than offering free rice to the poor. He also urged farmers not to take the extreme step, as suicide would not provide solutions.
