Pejawar seer injured due to travel on bad road

Udupi, January 21, 2018: Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt on Jan 19, Friday suffered  a sprain injury in his back during his Mantralaya trip. As result he was brought back to Udupi on Jan 20, Saturday morning.

"It is a sprain. The seer seems to be fine. He has been advised bed rest for a week. The doctor hasn’t prescribed any medication other than rest," Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president, Kannada Sahitya Parishad, said. "He was travelling to Mangaluru to participate in a school day function," he said.

Raguram Archarya, Diwan of the Mutt said, "He was on the way back from Mantralaya to Hyderabad, when the seer’s driver - driving a sedan - failed to notice the speed breaker. The impact caused sprain in his back at Nandyal in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. After preliminary medical treatment, doctors found him fit to travel from Hyderabad to Udupi."

The seer flew from Hyderabad to the Mangaluru International Airport and to Udupi by car. He reached the mutt at around 10 am, Jan 20.
