Udupi, Nov 30, 2017: Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Paryaya Pejawar Mutt who has completed 80 years of attaining Sanyasa or ascetic life, was felicitated at a function held at the Rajangana of the Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt on November 29, Wednesday.
The function was presided over by Lokayukta Justice P Vishwanath Shetty. Speaking on the occasion he lauded the services of the Pejawar seer towards the religious field and the society. On corruption, Justice Shetty said only the institution of Lokayukta cannot do it but the same could be achieved when efforts are made to build a good society.
Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde who was the chief guest said the concept of ’Sanyasa’ was India’s great gift to the world.
Pejawar seer in his address while referring to the message of Bhagavad Gita said the Gita has advised mankind to discharge responsibilities honestly. The objective of religious heads is Dharma Prasara and also to serve the society, This I have been doing to the best of my capacity, he added.
