Mangaluru, Dec 16, 2016 : Imparting good education is the best of all donations. It is only education that accords man his due status and respect in the society, said Mangaluru Diocese Bishop Rev Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza.
He was speaking after inaugurating the golden jubilee celebrations of Pejawar High School at Kalavar near Bajpe on December 14, Wednesday. Lauding the contribution of the school towards the educational field, he said it was a matter of great pride that many old students of this institution have today attained top positions in various fields.
Former minster Abhayachandra Jain described a school as a temple that gives a new dimension to the life of a student. The society has a responsibility to protect and promote Kannada schools, he added. He also released the souvenir brought out to commemorate the occasion.
Teachers who have served the school over the years and have retired from service were honoured. Meritorious students were also awarded.
Jagannath Shetty Bala, President of DK District Journalists Association, School Correspondent Rev. Fr Remezius Aranha, Headmaster Ramesh Bhat, former vice president of Zilla Panchayat Rithesh Shetty, former mayor Diwaker and others were present.
