Patanjali Yoga Samithi expresses support for Baba Ramdev

Mangalore, June 4: Bharat Swabhimaan (DK) and Patanjali Yoga Samithi organized a protest outside the DC’s office on Saturday to express support for Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, who has just launched his nationwide anti-corruption campaign.

Patanjali Yoga Samithi President M. Jagadeesh Shetty urged the people to support Baba Ramdev’s movement against corruption.

Baba Ramdev’s hunger strike commenced at 7:00 a.m. after the government failed to convince him that it has taken the required steps to bring back the black money stashed in foreign banks.

The yoga guru wants the Jan Lokpal Bill to be implemented by Aug 2011, black money illegally stashed in foreign banks to be declared as national property, the UNCAC – United National Convention against Corruption to be signed and ratified, all high currency denominations such as 1000, 500, and 100 to be recalled and abolished, and all British systems to be banned across India.

Mr. Shetty said that the Yoga Patanjali Samithi will extend full support to Baba Ramdev. Speaking about the objectives of the Yoga Patanjali Samithi, he said that the samithi wants yoga and its benefits to reach each and every person in India. He said that the members of the samithi have gone to Delhi to participate in the protest.

Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, the president of the DK district Kannada Sahitya Parishad, said that people from all over the country should support Baba Ramdev.

Jnaneshwar Nayak and Sujatha G., the officer bearers of Yoga Patanjali Samithi (state unit), were also present.
