Past UPA govt has contributed much for progress of Karnataka: Oscar

Udupi, Nov 04, 2014:  Rajya Sabha member and former union minister Oscar Fernandes laid the foundation for the construction of a  bridge costing Rs 7.36 crores  providing a link to Kannadakudru  in Hemmady Gram Panchayat limits on November 3, Monday. The  funds for the same have been sanctioned by the Karnataka State Road Development Corporation.

Speaking at a function held in this connection, he said   Karnataka had received much grants for development works  during the erstwhile UPA regime.  A bridge has been sanctioned for Kannadakudru as a result of the hard efforts of several years. This will fulfil a longstanding dream of residents of the area, he said.

Udupi in-charge Minister and State Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said the state government led by Siddaramaiah has  been successful in contributing significantly to the development of the region in its past one and a half years of tenure.

Byndoor MLA K Gopal Poojary presided over the function. Hemmady Gram Panchayat President Sharath Kumar Shetty, Congress leaders MA Gafur, Anantha Movadi, Raju Poojari, Fr Anil D’Souza, Fr AD Lima, Parish Priests and several others were present.
