Mangaluru, Dec 3,2014: : Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim has informed that a park in memory of the May 22, 2010 Mangaluru air crash victims will come up on a 43 cents land in between Tannirbavi and Kulur bridge.
Presiding over a meeting held here on December 3, Wednesday to discuss the construction of a memorial for air crash victims, the Deputy Commissioner said the project would be jointly undertaken by the administration, Air India, NMPT and Airport Authority of India. Once complete the park would be handed over to the MCC, the DC said adding the park will have a replica of the Boeing 737-800 aircraft at its centre.
JT Radhakrishna, Director of Mangalore International Airport, M Vasudeva Rao, former Director, Uday Nayak, ACP and others were present.
The May 22,2010 Air India express crash, the worst ever tragedy the city witnessed, had claimed 158 lives.
